Performance

The Basslink Interconnector has been operational since 29th April 2006.  From that time it has achieved an availability of 97.22 %.

On a daily basis up to 500 MW are transmitted across the interconnector in both directions.

In its first year of operation Basslink supplied 1920GWh to Tasmania and 450GWh to the National Electricity Market.

The reliability of Basslink is comparable to the highest performing interconnectors in the world.
