Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics sets out ethical values and business principles applicable to all employees of Basslink Group of Companies (collectively, “Basslink“). All employees of Basslink (collectively, “employees“) are expected to observe values such as integrity, responsibility and accountability while carrying out their duties and responsibilities in their daily dealings with colleagues, customers, suppliers, traditional and social media, business associates and the community.
The Code of Ethics also provides for standards of practice expected of all employees when dealing with conflicts of interests, confidential information, health, safety and environment concerns, and other matters.
In line with Basslink’s policy to maintain high ethical standards as provided in the Code of Ethics, Basslink has also adopted a fraud policy to facilitate the development of controls that will aid in the detection and prevention of fraud against Basslink. The fraud policy provides guidance on actions which may constitute fraudulent conduct and sets out procedures to be followed by employees and Basslink when fraud is detected or suspected.
Basslink has adopted a whistle-blowing procedure which will provide a platform for employees, to raise concerns made in good faith, without fear of retaliation, about actual or possible improprieties/malpractice and fraud.
All concerns raised or information received will be treated with strict confidence and subject to exceptional circumstances, every effort will be made to ensure that confidentiality is maintained throughout the process. Exceptional circumstances include instances where Basslink is under a legal obligation to disclose the information provided to the appropriate external regulatory authority.
The Code of Ethics, Whistle-blowing Policy and Fraud policy have been disseminated to all employees.
